Tony Caruso Jr. is a scrupulously honest, rule-abiding Detective Lieutenant, living in Queens, New York. His father, Tony Caruso Sr., is an ex-detective who served eight years in prison for a corruption conviction. Part of Tony Sr.'s parole terms require him to live with his son and stay out of trouble.
A man is found murdered in the park, and only two people in the world could have done it: TJ or his father.
A former colleague in the department, Jack Livingston, whose testimony was pivotal in sending Tony Sr. to prison and against whom Tony Sr. harbors a grudge, is found dead in a local park.

2. What is the supermodel's secret?
What's the rush?
Ten bucks says my King's keeping better company than your King.

I fold.

What's the matter?

You're supposed to be able to tell when a man's bluffing.
re you in, or are you out?
I call. And raise you five.
That's a forfeit. You can't call and then raise.
That's called a string bet. 先跟後加 連串下注
ow what? Since we're making up rules, I've decided it's nine cards or draw, and, TJ's rules, fives are wild.
I clocked it when she walked in the room.
Godspeed.
this is what you call sort of a "borderline" neighborhood.
I'm the four doors down.
I was coming off a 10-hour shoot in Long Island, and I was just tired and mad at myself.
Have you heard of a prairie oyster?
It's the best hangover cure in the world.
Some tomato juice... some Worchestershire sauce... some salt, some pepper... and an egg.
Would you like some OJ? It's freshly squeezed.
It's a no-brainer. You got it.
Your old man was just bragging on you.
For kicks and giggles.就好玩嘛
Lock it down.
You wanted to show me off to your friends. Fine. They saw me.
The thing is, I was so out of it last night.
Lieutenant?
Sir, we found the cartridge. It's a Serato hollow point.
I haven't seen those in a while. It's probably traceable.
We are young, limber and fun."
Maybe he had the munchies.
I've been up and down the hall. Nobody heard the shot.
Could have been a silencer?
A silencer means a contract.
This was no random hit.
My God, are you still hung up on that?
You didn't see them together this morning. She was all over him.
She's half his age.
At least, chronologically.
he's a convicted felon.
She's jeopardizing her whole career.
Some women need it for the buzz.
No relationship makes sense. That's why therapists charge $200 an hour.
It was just an itch. She scratched the itch. She's already moved on. She probably doesn't even remember his name.
She cancelled all of her appointments, so they could spend the day together.
Losing your cell phone is the worst. Your whole life is there. All your photos, all your contacts...
He broke every promise he ever made. I don't think I can be with a man like that. You know?
It's a bodega in Park Slope. Best samosa in Brooklyn.

Whenever Tony gets trashed, we usually find him at Patel's.
It was kind of a stash house. You know...
We would highjack trucks at the airport and then stash the merchandise there until we could sell it.
So you were kind of an outlaw.
Kindred spirit.
Can we get a photo with you?
it's her day off. Show some class.
Can you speed it up?
Evidently,
I launched my own company.
From scratch, on my own. My 40 million dollar company.
I'm not a quitter.
I finish what I start.
a corporate gig
He was always up to something.
How old am I? I don't see how that's relevant.
Did he cross any boundary in particular?
First door on your right.
She does this to... toy with me, and to annoy, but it doesn't get to me.
he backed up his hard drive on something.
It's a bear.

The victim was a world-class sleazebag.

We've interviewed at least 12 suspects.

Plus...

I've been a little distracted. By what?

What, me and Belinda?

She knows you're not rich, right? What kind of question is that?

I'm just using the same investigative techniques you taught me.

A cop looks for unusual behavior, a break in the pattern...

This is not a murder investigation, TJ.

It's a serious relationship between a man and a Victoria's Secret supermodel.

You promised you wouldn't date anybody younger than me.

Come on, she's on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

It's what you call The Swimsuit Issue exemption.

Let me ask you this, and please...

Don't take offense.

When you're alone together... are you different?

Different how?

Are you nicer?

Are you more considerate to people?

I consider people.

Not consider, Dad. Considerate.

There's a difference. What do you want me to tell you?

I am just me.

I am as God made me.

And she digs it.

Alright. Let me ask you something now.

If this woman's not into me, then what's she doing with me?

You said it yourself, I'm not rich.

Just being with me could derail her whole career.

So, tell me, Detective, what's her angle?

What's in it for her?

We've got a problem. Something's come up.

What happened, did your old talent agent rise from the grave?

Not quite.

You're not going to like this.

When I paid you at the bar last night, my phone was on the seat. I must have sat on it.

I called somebody.

You called somebody? it was an accident. It was a "butt dial."

A "butt dial"? - Let's not over-react.

We can figure this out.

Somebody heard? They heard me?

No, not yet.

The guy I called can't find his phone.

We've been looking for it together.

When he finds it I'll delete the message.

Lady, I don't care how many billboards your pretty face is on.

We talked about this.

We talked about discretion, and we talked about consequences.

You don't have to threaten me.

I told you I'm on it.

If you're on it, then what the hell am I doing here?

There's a chance that I can't contain the problem.

And if that's the case, I don't want to have to worry about you.

What are you going to do Sleeping Beauty?

Kill me?

It's a lot harder than it looks.

Where's the gun?

How does this work? Where's the safety?

There it is.

It's not that hard.

We've already ID'd the vic. He's a pretty big fish.

His name is Corey Speck.

He used to do muscle work for the Numark Brothers, mostly in Philly.

Feds have been looking for this guy since 2012.

Is that a taser?

Affirmative, Dr. Kornbluth thinks he was tased then shot.

What did we win?

A Serato hollow-point.

Second one today.

I've got some indentations over here.

Cane?

High heels.

A woman?

How you doing, guys?

So, this is the scene. That's where it is?

Holy Moses, isn't that Victoria's Secret...

Belinda Mannix.

Mannix, that's her name. What is she doing here?

Dad!

Hey, T, what's happening?

Detective. How's it going?

How's it going?

You can't bring a civilian to an active crime scene.

Come on, son.

She's not exactly a civilian. I mean, look at her.

Burl called, he told me you got called in.

I told her, she got all excited.

She begged me to bring her here. It's her first crime scene.

She's going to play a cop in her next movie, and she's doing research.

It'll be good PR.

The Department could use it after all the corruption scandals.

Those scandals are because of you.

Exactly. I'm making amends.

You're welcome.

We're going back to her place after.

She wants to show me how much she appreciates my help.

And some people say there is no God.

First, she's all about her phone, and now this?

It's hinkey. Come on.

Am I wrong?

It's hinkey-ish.

It's hinkey-ish. What kind of brush is that? Camel hair.

It'll pick up any latent prints.

Poor guy.

How can you stand it?

You never do.

When you get used to it, It is time to quit.

Miss Mannix?

Excuse me. I'm gonna need you to move back, please.

TJ, look at you. "Move back, please." Are you in charge?

I was until... you showed up.

I'm going to have to take you to the station tomorrow.

Why?

You just touched the car. We're going to need to take your prints, so that we can eliminate them.

I didn't realize.

Lieutenant, we found a hair.

That could be mine too. I'm sorry.

No, it's not a problem.

It happens all the time.

What else did you touch? I may have touched the mirror.

Why did you touch the mirror?

I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking.

Weren't you?

Lieutenant? Detective.

You're going to want to see this.

There must have been a camera inside the boombox.

It's a nasty business, secretly videotaping these parties.

Husbands, politicians, doctors...

A lot of people pay serious money to make these tapes disappear.

How many of them are there? More than 50.

We're going to be here awhile.

Hey, hey, hey...

Well, if you love your job, it isn't work.

I know, I'm late.

No, keep the photographers there. I'll pay the overtime.

I'll be bringing a friend.

Hey, Belinda...

You've got blood on your hands.

Probably from the crime scene. I've got a tissue.

Wait a minute.

We're in business.

What?

I found my phone.

I remember where I left it.

Are you sure about this? Yeah, I'm visualizing it.

You know how you visualize things as they come back to you?

I took a cab from Patel's.

I was looking for money. I put my phone down.

That's it.

You left it on the seat. It's probably in their lost and found.

Nobody home.

We'll come back tomorrow.

I don't do tomorrow, Tony.

You "don't do tomorrow?"

No, I do now.

We're here now! We should just... get it. What do you want me to do, break in?

Sweetheart, I can't do that. I can't break in. I'm still on parole.

It's not worth it.

I'm okay.

You okay?

Yeah.

Do you see it?

Give me a minute.

Keep your pants on.

At least until I tell you otherwise.

Oh yeah.

Fourteen minutes?

Are you sure you got the right guy? Albert Monte?

Little bald guy with a big stupid smile.

He ain't smiling no more.

What about the laptop?

First things first.

I didn't mention it earlier.

I'm a big fan of your work.

I'm a fan of yours too.

If you don't mind my asking, what did he have over you?

Youthful indiscretion. He would have bled me dry.

Want some advice? Find a microwave and nuke it.

Best way to erase it.

I'll do that.

You want a drink? Not here.

It's too well lit.

There's too many people. I'm surprised you haven't been recognized.

Actually I was, while I was waiting.

Some old geezer came over.

He asked me to play poker.

Poker?

Yeah, I couln't shake him loose, it was pathetic.

Did you find it?

No, it's not here.

Oh yeah, I want a piece of Candy.

Come on, Candy.

Show me what you got, Candy.

Did they say "Candy"?

Yeah, they all have stage names.

Freeze the frame. Right there.

Can you zoom in on the hand?

So she knew Al Monte.

And the man who killed him.

Oh my God.

Dad.

We don't usually take confessions this late.

I know, Father. I'm sorry, but it was kind of an emergency.

We haven't seen you at mass, Anthony.

How long since your last confession?

It's been a while.

Since I lost Connie.

So, four years, Father.

That's quite a long time.

What sins have you committed since then?

It's not a short list.

Have you cursed? Have you taken the Lord's name in vain?

Father, we really can't start there, because we'll be here all week.

Have you taken pleasure in impure thoughts?

That's what I mean, Father.

We're really going to have to jump ahead.

Alright, you tell me. What brings you here?

Okay. Well...

Here's the thing, Father, I...

I'm meeting a friend... a woman, later tonight and...

I have a very difficult decision to make, and I just didn't know who else to call.

What kind of decision?

I'm not sure you can appreciate this Father, but... this woman is famous.

She's... the stuff that dreams are made of.

I mean any guy I know would give a year of his life, just to spend ten minutes with this woman.

I mean... any other guy.

Is she married?

No, Father, that's not it. She's not married. It's...

Here's the thing...

She killed a guy.

She killed a guy?

She had him killed.

And also, I just learned that she doesn't like me at all.

She's just with me because... she thinks I have some evidence against her.

But, I've decided that...

I don't care.

I just want to be with her.

The flesh is weak. Father... it is so weak.

Anthony, if this woman committed a mortal sin, you have to report it.

You have a duty to God and to society.

Your son is a righteous man, you could talk to him.

I know that father.

I know that, and I will talk to him.

But... can it wait?

I mean, that's the question. Can I get an extension?

An extension?

Just one night, Father.

That's all I'm asking for.

Father... it's Belinda Mannix.

Victoria's Secret? Are you familiar?

Do you get Sports Illustrated?

No.

But you are familiar with their Swimsuit Edition.

Here, look.

Here's a picture of her. Take a look. It doesn't matter what she looks like.

I know that, Father, but you gotta look at this.

Anthony, what do you want me to say?

Father, I know this isn't going to happen, but..

I just wish you could say...

"Bang her in peace."

Voicemail again.

Any luck? I got him.

He's downtown. Tribeca?

Looks like it.

She has a loft.

Hey, I'm coming.

You're late.

I told you, I don't like you out of my sight.

I get worried when you're not around.

I wonder why.

I have some Sancerre I've been saving.

Saving for what?

For... you.

For us.

Boy, nice place.

I know that woman.

Do you?

Do I?

So, I had an idea.

We can go back to the taxi company tomorrow.

A lot of people pay by credit card now.

They might have a record of who the next passenger was.

You don't give up, do you?

No, I'm a dog with a bone.

I wanted to thank you.

For?

Humoring me. I get obsessed with things, stupid, little things like your phone.

And you.

Tony "The Tiger".

I am obsessed with you.

Wait a minute. Wait a minute.

Is something wrong?

I just need a minute to think.

What's going on? Just let me think for a second.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but...

I can't do this.

I have to go.

You want to leave. Why?

I'd really rather not...

I found my phone.

Did you listen to your voicemail?

Yeah, my friend Wendell.

He can't go bowling Thursday night. We're going to reschedule. or... did you mean the one where you were talking to the hitman?

You know... you could still have me.

All you have to do is hit "Delete".

I can't.

How are you two lovebirds doing?

Miss Mannix, turn around, put your hands behind your back.

Dad.

You okay?

Dad, don't move.

This is Lieutenant Caruso.

I need an ambulance to an 85 with additional units. 740 Benton Street.

Head injury. I'm staying with him.

I'm going to get up. No, sit.

Just relax.

Don't lose that phone.

There's a voicemail on there.

She called me by accident.

It's all on there. It was a contract hit.

I know, Dad. I know everything.

You okay? I guess you were right, son.

She's out of my league.

That is not the way I see it.

You were definitely out of her league.
